Qween City is thrilled to be highlighting the city & region’s myriad artisan makers this holiday season. If you would like to be highlighted in the Craftiste directory, please shoot an email to qweencity716@gmail.com.
How long have you been an artisan & business owner in Buffalo?
On and off for about 7 years
Where are you located in the city / region?
I create my work from my home in North Buffalo
Have you operated elsewhere?
I have. Foxberry Grove began in Jamestown, NY.
Please describe your work / product; if applicable, please include your artist / personal statement or mission.
A Frayed Knot: Have you ever thought about how wasteful, not to mention often ugly, those cardboard to-go cup sleeves are? Problem solved. A Frayed Knot Buffalo creates one of a kind reusable mug sleeves, mittens, gloves, and sweaters. Be kind to the environment AND give your cup some personality.
Foxberry Grove: Home decor created from locally found/gathered wood and recycled glass bottles. All wood is found/gifted, not purchased “new” and is turned on a lathe by myself. All glass is collected from local wine bars/merchants.
Who are some of your favorite artisans / makers in the region?
Brook D’Angelo of Brick Chick is badass. I have been out of the area for a bit so I am getting reacquainted with who is out here working. Hopefully platforms such as this will point me toward my people. 🙂
Where will you be representing your wares this holiday season?
Always on Etsy. I will be at the makers market in Niagara Falls on December 9th. Anything after that is up in the air!
